A BIT ABOUT US
Hello from the little team here at Studio Maverik! We are made up of two local artists, Frances & Rhianna, and supported by a wide community of incredible people here in Meanjin ★
Studio Maverik is a creative community facilitating connection, creativity and learning through events and public programming. We believe that art is for all, and that it can be a magical way to bring us together. Our events have a strong focus on social connection, accessibility and informal creativity. We welcome all people to come along to chat and create in a warm, energetic space.
HOW WE CAME TO BE ~
Studio Maverik was created in 2021 with a simple hope to generate new life in the local visual arts community after the events of 2020. With a love of life drawing and a group of supportive friends, we began with a few pop-up events which grew into weekly sessions reaching the people of Meanjin far and wide.
We’ve been lucky enough to expand our events into experimental creative sessions, markets and industry events, plus publishing a monthly mav-letter speaking to our local art scene. At every event, we count our blessings that our community allows us to do what we love, and that in turn, we can bring some joy to them too ♡
~ WHY WE LOVE OUR COMMUNITY
The people of Studio Maverik are our everything ~ they are the ones who bring the impeccable vibes to every session, who craft conversation with fellow creatives and who continue to allow us to do our favourite thing — host fun (and sometimes experimental) events. Our collective is made up of regular life drawers, talented and passionate life models, arts writers, local artists and all of the lovely people who pop into our events. It’s been a total joy to meet you all, make new friends and collaborate on so many wonderful projects.

Rhianna Phillips ♡
Rhianna (she/her) adores film photography, grounding in nature, tasmanian devils & curating events.
